GUINEA PIGS
Guinea pigs are very friendly pets. We have all the supplies needed to take one of these sweet critters home. Supplies may include a cage, hay, bedding, hidey house, pellet food, food bowls, and water bottles. Don’t forget to grab treats and toys to spoil your pet!
Feeding: Arguably the most important aspect of your guinea pig's diet is hay. This will keep their digestive system healthy. We carry timothy, alfalfa, orchard, and mixed hay bundles.
Cage Maintenance: It is very important to keep your pet's cage clean and change the bedding every couple of days or as needed. Food and water containers should be cleaned daily.
Chickens
We typically carry baby chicks from February to October each year. Available breeds change weekly, so come check them out!
Some of the most popular dual-purpose chicken breeds we carry are Easter Eggers, Rhode Island Reds, Plymouth barred Rocks, and Buff Orpingtons. Most breeds fall within the 6–10-pound weight range - great for families that want both eggs and meat. Egg colors ranges from white, cream and brown to blue and green!
White Leghorns are one of the smaller breeds that we carry. They are excellent white egg-producers and only weigh about 4 pounds at maturity. We also have assorted Bantams around Easter time each year - these chickens can weigh as little as 1 pound! Bantams are popular with hobbyists who collect them due to their unusually plumage shapes, colors, patterns.
Ducks (Peking & Mallard)
Ducks are available in early spring - a week or two before Easter until the weather gets hot. Ducks are very fragile, so we do not have them shipped in during the summer.
Rabbits
Available breeds vary greatly. Rabbits are our most popular small pet, so they are usually consistently in-store. Our most popular breeds are dwarf mixes, including Lionhead, Netherland, Lop-Ear, and Mini Rex. We also carry large standard breeds such as New Zealand and California.
